Patrick, Hi! Yes your correct, DXng the am band is fantastic, much much fun and and a real challenge! I found a Philco tombstone model am radio in a garbage can back in the late 70's. Back in 1996 I sold it as was for 300.00. Not a bad deal! Radio Rules! 73! Vaughn-N1XV

I started out finding a radio on a garbage rack in Seward AK on my way
home from School one day. That was in 1962. I plugged it in and turned
it on and I was hooked. I was 13 at the time. I have had a lot of fun
with a radio ever since. I joined the IRCA in 1968. The hobby is a lot
of fun, hearing new stations, QSLing the stations you hear, visiting and
meeting new DXers. The IRCA will be holding their annual convention in
Boise ID this Summer. Maybe you can come. You will have a lot of fun.

73s,

Patrick
