When I was about 10 I spotted my neighbors father carrying a HUGE wooden
Philco out to the curb for the garbage. I asked to have it and got it. All
the tubes were gone. I scrounged from my Dads hoard, all of the tubes but
one. He took pity on me and bought the last one. I couple of cap
replacments and I was in heaven. I had wire strung everywhere. I wish I
still had it. I still had it until I was about 24 when my EX-wife sold it to
a used furniture auction for $ 20.00 one day while I was at work. Not the top
reason she is my ex, but close. I loved that radio.
