I believe there ARE still some DA-D/ND-N Class Cs, and for the reason you
alluded, to protect an
adjacent-channel non-C daytimer. During the day, the Class C has to hold
down interference to
the adjacent-channel daytimer; but after the daytimer signs off, the Class
C can let 'er rip.
Also, if the daytimer gets a piddle-power nighttime authorization, then
they have to accept
interference from the Class C.
