Interesting discussion regarding logging software. I am a programmer and primarily use Visual Basic and Microsoft Access. The link I am providing will take you to a screen shot of my logging program.
The big grid is for my individual loggings which go back to the mid-1960's. The smaller grid on the bottom left contains a list of longwave non-directional beacons and medium wave stations. You'd have to see the program in action to fully appreciate what the smaller grid does. Additionally, I have many many sound files dating back many years for many of the stations in my log. I merely have to click on a line...if a sound file exists on my hard drive, the command button 'Play Recording' goes from not enabled to enabled and when I click on it, it plays the associated sound file.
This program ain't the best...but I designed it for my needs. I will log any station including longwave, mediumwave, shortwave, vhf and uhf. Thought you might find this interesting!
