WTOP DX test

Thursday, February 12 2004

My pet theory is that the best possible material for DX tests would
actually be theme songs from old television shows. Most of us
know very well, that's it easy to "follow" a familar song through
all kinds of interference, while almost impossible to
pull out the voice ID that follows.

Can you imagine a DX test with the themes from "The Addams Family",
"The Monkees", "Beverly Hillbillies, etc?" It would be virtually certain
that
you were hearing the test, and yet still not objectionable to average
listeners.

If WTOP is interested, I can supply a CD of songs, along with Morse
Code ID's, etc.
