What about familiar songs you no longer hear on AM radio, such as hits from
the 1980s? The last AM Top 40 stations went by the wayside in the 1980s; the
last 50 kW AM to dump Top 40 was WLS in Chicago (not dumping it's last music
programs until 1989). St. Louis had a Top 40 station on AM (although simulcasting
the FM) until 1997 (WKBQ 1380, now KSLG "The Team").
