How many of you IRCAns have informed a station of interference from IBOC
sidebands?
This was my experience. Last week, I informed WCBW 880 about this issue. The
interference of KFUO's IBOC sidebands to the signal of WCBW 880 Highland,
IL (30 kHz away from KFUO, which is on 850) is very bad, especially in the
Clayton and Richmond Heights areas near St. Louis. With that in mind, at the
suggestion of an amateur radio operator and ex-DJ in Joplin, MO, I sent off
an
E-mail to the Reverend Larry Rice, the Director of New Life Evangelistic
Center,
the Christian organization that owns and operates WCBW.
I mentioned to him (Rev. Rice) that the IBOC sidebands from KFUO threatens
WCBW's ability to operate efficiently as a ministry outreach for the St. Louis
region. I'll also have to fire off a letter to KOTC 830 Kennett, MO, making
them aware of the interference caused to their signal (which is still in AM
Stereo) in the northern fringes.
