Nice Surprise

Tuesday, February 24 2004

I'm sure there will be different responses, but what timer is everyone (or should I say most everyone) sold on? I'm about to set up my Drake R8B in my new shack and I would like to get the most out of it.

Everyone, thanks for the kind words.

Paul, I thought everyone used a timer? This is the second winter I've used
one and I wouldn't be without it now. It works just great. I've probably
logged around 50 new ones with it, mostly graveyarders, plus a few gems like
KINY. It's running here most nights from 58mins before to 3mins after TOH
every hour from midnight to sunrise. I find it absolutely amazing how one
station can dominate for the full 5 minutes at one TOH and never be heard
again that night. Or how a station can surface thru the noise right at the
very moment they ID at TOH and then immediately disappear. Of course this
doesn't happen every night, unfortunately. Get one Paul, you won't be sorry.
And for the little they cost, it's cheap enjoyment.
