Clandestine Radio & Pirate Radio

Thursday, June 02 2005

Hello Charles and all other list members !

thank you for the warm welcome reg. my message 'Clandestine R
Watch 182 and 183 at the CRW homepage'.

I want to to write a few words regarding your message.

In my understanding there is a difference between Pirate (of Free)
radio and Clandestine radio. Local low power FM stations are third
thing, they are different because they are legal.

Pirate radio stations play music, no politics.

Clandestine stations play not much music, most time they talk
about politics. Normally they want the current government of a
certain state to be removed ..

And with that simple definition you can even call Radio Martì a
clandestine ..
Nowadays we could also call 'clandestines' as 'non-religious target-
broadcasting'.

And reg. MW - in the near east there are several clandestines on
MW. Even the 'Voice of Polisario' from Western Sahara and radio
Sawa from Djibouti are both on MW and are audible in North.-
America.

=However, I speak/understand very little Basque [!?1].
That may be true .. as they speak Basque in NE Spain and West-
France .. What you mean is certainly 'Bavarian'. But that is difficult
to understand, too.

=morganundwienerschnizel,
Good morning and a escalope/cutlet ..

Anyway, thank you for your interest !
