Oh yes !  Beautiful "Oil-town" Monahans, in west Texas.   Been there before.  Back in 1984 -- the Pecos, Texas AM on 1400  --  KUIN  would sign off at 10 PM or so and leave the carrier on all night until signing back on the air at around 6 AM.  I think the truckers used it to home in on Pecos.  And the 98.3 Class A FM was soud mounted to the AM tower -- and would also broadcast dead air for 8 hours.   Home on the range.
