Off topic-electrical problem

Friday, June 10 2005

Quick items, inapplicable here, not uncommon in hi-tech era to find neutral and hot terminals reversed. Hardware stores, etc., sell outlet testers, small box, three prong plug & three LED's. Various color combos indicate OK, if not define problem.
As Cal sagely mentions, always nice, if comfortable so doing, tighten breaker box terminals or have electrician do same. Loose contacts can foul, build resistance, possibly create voltage flukes. Check ground clamp tightness at water pipe, rods, etc.
