Field Day 2005

Tuesday, June 28 2005

Sounds familiar. I started DXing around '84 and didn't knuckle down for my
license until 2000.

Subject: [IRCA] Field Day 2005

My across the street neighbor, who's a HAM, invited me to Field Day this
past weekend. The Oconee County club held it in our Government Annex
building here in Watkinsville, Georgia. We went about 11:30 Saturday and I
stayed 'til 2:45 Sunday morning. I had a great time and it further convinced
me I need to study and get my License. Working stations in Australia, Italy
and just about every state in the nation was kind of fun. It brought back
memories of the 70's when I was heavily into CB and worked a lot of skip. I
have the book, but I just need to find the time to sit and study it. Who
knows...maybe one day I'll join the HAM ranks. I know it would make my
Father happy as that's something he has wanted to do his whole life.
